Last week I had the pleasure of partaking in the ACRNA Annual Conference. During which time I was fortunate enough to witness two spectacular presentations by my esteemed colleague and friend, John Chidgey.

His conference presentation flexed his technical abilities and knowledge on AI, machine learning and all things automation. However, his dinner presentation was an unexpected insight into John’s background, his challenges and his conquests as a visionary automation engineer in a reactive world; as well as some deeply personal insight into his health and how he identified and resolved a chronic fatigue issue. John was both candid and humble in sharing his struggle with sleep apnoea, encouraging many others at the conference to share their experiences and educate others on symptoms and remedies.

It is always refreshing to see someone share vulnerabilities with humour, grace and most importantly a message for people to take home and to learn from.
