Whisky Whiskey is a video podcast about my exploration of Whisky in all of its forms.
The sixth and final Cape Byron offering in this week of Byron culminates in a truly outstanding Single Cask offering…the Tawny Cask Single Malt. I also look at some of the requirements for becoming a B-Corp Certified company that Cape Byron worked very hard to achieve. In the end though, what can I say about this Whisky? I love a good Port finish, but is next-level yummy.

The artist formerly known at The Famous Grouse, came highly recommended to me by the Scotch 4 Dummies. I look into the constituent components of this dram, the SWAs ruling on Pure Malt vs Vatted Malt vs Blended Malts, as well as the impending sale of the brand to William Grant & Sons. Whilst I was somewhat skeptical at first, I review the Naked Malt and finally truly nail how all-Malts are so distinctively different than grain Whiskies. Is this my new best value Scotch?

The last of the Smokeheads from the Gift Pack I acquired is now up for try. The High Voltage is a 58% ABV offering and it lives up to its name. I look at some of the history of Ian Macleod, the distilleries they own, and that they don’t as well as mention some other Smokehead offerings. In the end though, as I review this Scotch…I can’t say that they didn’t warn me.

The Smokehead Trifecta continues with their Rum Rebel offering. It’s the first Rum-finished cask I’ve ever tried and it is, well, different for sure… I also shake my head a bit at the ’trendy’ website description and tasting notes but ultimately is this dram any good? Let’s find out.

Smokehead is a brand, not a Distillery, owned by Ian Macleod whose primary focus is to produce an affordable, heavily peated Scotch Whisky. Their original offering is relatively affordable and their range comes from an unnamed Islay Distillery. I look into the speculation and most likely what it ACTUALLY is, and then see if this is as Smokey as they claim…

The first review I’ve ever done of an Independently Bottled Whisky, today I look at the TIB Peated Vatted Malt…Number 2! Having tried this at a Whisky Club night, I dive into what IBs are, how they work, and about who Tim Duckett is and the overlap with the famous Australian Lark Distillery. They only made 184 bottles of this stuff…and I grabbed the last one in Australia. So what’s so good about this? Let me explain…
